The Indian unit of the Italian car maker Fiat has announced discount offers on its popular hatchback Punto and sedan Linea. The move has been taken in a bid to boost the sales of these models during the upcoming festive season. The car makers in India are expected to offers a number of freebies and discounts in the coming month to attract buyers towards their showrooms during the Diwali festival season.
The new discount offer will be valid from September to October 2011, will offer an opportunity to the customers to avail a discount of up to Rs 75,000 on Punto and Rs 1.3 lakh at Linea sedan.
In a statement given on Wednesday, Fiat India chief executive Rajeev Kapoor said, "With the launch of this campaign, we portray our commitment towards the Indian market and communicate that this campaign has been designed keeping in mind the emotions, sentiments and key values, deeply portraying our Indian connect."
Moreover, the company also stated that the customers, who will be exchanging their old vehicles, will be receiving an additional Rs 20,000 discount, wherein customers can upgrade to Fiat cars in exchange of their old cars.
