If there is one Bollywood franchise that has made its mark among automobile enthusiasts, it is the Dhoom series. Produced by Yash Raj Films, one of the most renowned production houses in the country, the first film of this series, titled Dhoom, was released in 2004. The first film, starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, featured a number of bike and car stunts. Notably, Abraham earned a lot of praise and fame for his act on the Suzuki Hayabusa, which became popular across the nation following the movie's release. Dhoom 2, the second instalment, featured superstars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in leading roles and enjoyed a lot of success. Yash Raj Films is geared up to release the third edition of Dhoom series by the end of 2013.

Interestingly, makers of the film launched the official motion poster of Dhoom 3 on their official YouTube channel. Dhoom 3 has already created tremendous hype among Bollywood fans, who are eagerly awaiting the film's release. The film stars superstar Aamir Khan, who will return to the big screen after his 2012 release, Reema Kagti's Talaash. Alongside Aamir Khan, the film will also feature Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. Slated to be released on 25th December 2013, Dhoom 3 will come in IMAX and regular 2D formats.

The Dhoom series is known for depicting gravity defying action sequences, which include some amazing bikes and cars. According to rumours and reports, the third part is going to be a step ahead of the previous two films. This can be comprehended from the recently released motion poster, which featured a back shot of Aamir Khan and a slogan that said 'This Year Will End With A Dhoom'. The poster depicts Aamir Khan overlooking an entire city with dark clouds looming large and a few helicopters emerging out of them.

Of late, images of Aamir Khan sitting on a BMW bike while shooting for Dhoom 3 in Chicago were revealed on the Internet. If rumours are to be believed, then Khan will be riding the BMW K1300R bike in the film, which indicates the kind of stunts that might feature. The BMW K1300R is an amazing machine that is powered by an engine that has a displacement of 1293 cc and is capable of generating an output of around 173 bhp. Incredibly, the K1300R can clock 100 kmph from 0 kmph in a matter of just 2.81 seconds approximately.

Interestingly, Dhoom 3 is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who replaces Sanjay Gadhvi, the director of the first two instalments. Vijay Krishna Acharya has been closely associated with the series as he has written dialogues and screenplays for both Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The makers of the film have not revealed any details about the story. However, unlike the first two parts, Dhoom 3's plot will have two antagonists, played by Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif.
