Toyota launches petrol Innova Crysta at Rs 13.73 lakh

The petrol variant of the Toyota Innova has been launched in India starting at Rs 13.73 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The top-of-the-line automatic variant costs Rs 19.62 lakh.
The changing preferences of consumers from diesel to petrol has made Toyota consider introducing a petrol Innova Crysta for the Indian market. Also the Supreme Court's diesel ban in India has had an effect on the sales for the carmaker. Till now, the new MPV was offered in 2.8-litre and 2.4-litre engine options, but only in diesel. So now, the petrol-variant has been introduced that comes powered by an in-line four-cylinder 2.7-litre unit that produces 164bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. On the transmission front, there is a choice of a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The new petrol variant also follows the footsteps of the oil-burner variant and comes equipped with the same features and equipment from its sibling. It will be offered in the Gx and Vx trim in both the seven- and eight-seater arrangement. Bookings and deliveries of the petrol Innova Crysta have begun today.
The petrol Innova Crysta should not only help Toyota to stop their dropping sales, but also boost them. This way the carmaker should also increase their share in the MPV segment and strengthen their leadership position.
