      Tata Zest meets expectations in the sedan segment in India

      Tata's Zest made its debut in the sedan segment with much vigor earlier this year. Since then there has been no looking back for the brand in the domestic market. The Zest sedan from Tata Motors has generated sales numbers that has been reportedly at par with sales numbers from other hotsellers like Ford EcoSport, Honda City Diesel, Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Mobilio. The Petrol version of Tata Zest is available in XE, XM, XMS and XT variants at a starting price tag of about 4.64 Lakhs, whereas the diesel variant is available in XE, XM, XMA, XMS and XT trims that starts at an attractive price tag of about Rs. 5.64 lakhs. Both the above mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi based. The recently launched Tata Zest Tata Zest is available in shades of Platinum Silver, Buzz Blue, Pristine White, Sky Grey, Venetian Red and Dune Beige.

      Features like clutch lock, 3-point seat belt at front, rear outer 3-point belt speed sensing auto door lock, day and night rear view mirror, cornering stability control, and center lap belt have been included in Tata Zest to make it a safe bet in the sedan segment. The sedan also gets rear parking assist for easy parking in tight spots. Entertainment for occupants is well taken care off by the Infotainment screen.

      Speaking more on technical aspect of Tata Zest, the petrol trim of this sedan is powered by 1.2 litre Revotron engine that generates top power and torque output of 88.8 Bhp and 140 Nm respectively. A five speed manual gearbox is mated to the petrol engine. The 1.3 Liter diesel motor is available in two power output figures - 74 Bhp and 88.8 Bhp. The 74 Bhp version generates top torque of 190 Nm while the 88.8 Bhp version develops top torque of 200 Nm. Basic diesel variant is housed with the 74 Bhp diesel motor while rest of the variants get 88.8 Bhp version. The diesel version gets both manual and automated manual transmission. Owing to high demand the Zest sedan from Tata Motors has gone a waiting period for a couple of months.
