Tata has been a brand that has been synonymous with UV segment in India. The Tata Safari SUV has undergone many technical changes since its inception in the country sometime in mid 90's. The SUV from Tata is tuned to tackle virtually every unexpected road block that you may encounter during the journey. The Aria SUV from Tata has relatively been a newer entry in the SUV segment. The sales for this SUV never really kicked off due to typical Tata design and overpricing. The powerful SUV is set to make its presence felt this time around with a fresh face-lift for the Indian market.
The new Aria is being offered in three variants - PURE LX, PLEASURE and PRIDE 4 x 4. The Aria SUV is powered by 2.2 litre VARICOR engine that generates a maximum power output of about 150 PS with torque figures of up to 320 Nm. The powerful engine is impressive with fuel figures and returns an impressive mileage of about 15.05 kmpl as per ARAI figures. The Indian car-maker has also given due importance to the safety factor by incubating features like ABS with EBD, ESP, Perimetric Alarm System, front passenger seat, driver‘s seat, side airbags and curtain airbags. In the interior the SUV gets new leather seats with beige upholstery, thereby rendering an upmarket feel to the fresh launch. The driver's seat is height adjustable and the steering is tilt adjustable. Comfort for the passenger is ensured with dual AC featuring Automatic Climate Control option and roof-mounted AC vents. On the exterior front, the Aria SUV sports new chic decals clear lens tail lamps, 17 inch alloy wheels and black bezel double barrel head lights. The new Aria is Aria is launched in the domestic market at an interesting price tag of Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). A three year warranty or 150,000 kms whichever comes first, is being offered by Tata for the new Varicor engine.
The freshest and the most loaded SUV from the Safari production line is the Safari Storme Explorer edition. The SUV is powered by 2.2 litre that generates an impressive power of about 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Moreover, the Tata Safari Storme Explorer edition has shed the previously used DICOR technology and has received a VariCOR (Variable Turbine Technology) engine. This car has been launched to appease its off-roading fans. The newer version comes with bolder front nudge guard, 'Explorer Edition' decals on the sides and bonnet of the car. Moreover, the car also sports a door visor, which is helpful during monsoon or while driving at high speeds. The roof-mounted Canopy feature is ideal when you head out into the unknown and need to spend the night outside your homely comfort.
