Followed by Bolt hatchback, Tata Motors has also put on display Zest compact sedan at the Geneva Motor Show 2014. The sub-four-meter sedan made its debut at the recently concluded Auto Expo last month. Zest would be the second offering from the auto maker in the compact sedan segment, as it already has Indigo CS in this segment. Tata has international markets on its radar and will start exporting Zest from India soon after the sedan’s launch in India which could take place during the festive season.
Indian and European-spec Zest will share same set of engines; the petrol variant will get a 1.2 litre petrol motor good for 83 Bhp and 140 Nm. The diesel version of Zest will come with a 1.3 litre multijet diesel powertrain capable of generating 89 Bhp.
Tata Motors seem aggressive in its strategy and is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the upcoming sedan in India. A few days back only, Tata rolled out a new initiative, ‘ Zest for Startdom’ in association with the popular Bollywood awards, IIFA which are conducted out of Indiaevery year. The company has conducted a contest and the lucky winner will get a chance to perform on stage with Ranveer Singh who shot to fame with Ramleela.
Teasers for the same can also be seen on television featuring actor Ranveer Singh. Winner will be chosen through voting by the users on Zest for Stardom Facebook application and witness the grand event being organized in Tampa Bay this year.
