      Shootout between Limited Edition Models: Maruti WagonR Krest vs Hyundai i10 Sportz

      The Indian auto industry has recently witnessed the launch of 2 new limited edition models that to belonging to one of the fiercest rivals Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. The country’s largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki recently introduced new Wagon R Krest in a hope to cash on the festive season. It must be noted that numerous auto makers have launched several reworked cars and special edition models to gather the attention of Indian buyers.

      The new model of Wagon R costs Rs. 22500 more than the normal price. Interestingly, the car comes with small changes in its design and some new features. The highlights of the new Wagon R Krest are chrome grille, limited edition body decals, parking sensor at rear, carpet floor mats and exclusive seat covers, to name a few. Coming to its technical specification, the car comes equipped with a 1.0-litre K series petrol engine, which returns a mileage of 20.5kmpl.

      On the other hand, the South Korean auto maker Hyundai came up with its Limited Edition i10 Sportz. This car is launched to rejoice the success of 1.1 lakh sales achievement in the Indian auto market. Expressing his views at the launch ceremony, the Senior Vice-President for Marketing and Sales and Hyundai India, Rakesh Srivastava said, "Grand has created a new benchmark in the automotive industry by foraying into the list of top five most selling brands in India within the first month of full production. We achieved a milestone with the delivery of 100,000 Hyundai Grand cars within 10 months of its launch making it the fastest car to achieve this landmark in India.”

      The petrol variant of new Grand i10 is priced around Rs. 5.11 lakh, while its diesel counterpart costs about Rs. 5.98 lakh. The petrol version is incorporated with the current generation 1.2 litre Kappa engine, while diesel variant features a U2 1.1 litre CRDi engine. Petrol version returns a mileage of around 19 kmpl while diesel offers mind blowing 24 kmpl. The changes seen in the new limited edition model are diamond cut alloy wheels, steering mounted Bluetooth and audio controls. At exteriors, body decals can be spotted at the B-Pillar. Changes to the spoiler at rear have also been made. The upholstery is also changed with appealing combination of red and black color to offer a sporty look at the interiors.
