Renault hasn’t yet launched any of its mass-market A-segment vehicles, but sooner or later, they had to get into this market. This is why, the automakers are planning to launch Kwid, which is supposed to be a hatchback but looks more of a crossover. The big news is that the automakers have announced the launch of an 800 cc three cylinder powered engine in this vehicle, but there have been rumours that the company will also launch a 1L engine option in this car after 6-8 months of the launch of 0.8L Renault Kwid.

The automakers left everyone in suspense as they didn’t reveal any specifications of the engine that they were going to incorporate in the Kwid. They didn’t even confirm the launch or lining up of the 1L variant. Though as per a rough idea, the company’s UK’s range Twingo also has a 1L three cylinder engine. This is capable of producing 70 bhp power and 90 Nm torque. In case the Indian model is launched with the same specifications, the company will make sure that the vehicle performs as per these numbers.

Eon 1L and the Alto K10 will stand in tough when Renault Kwid 1L launches in the country. The unveiling of this vehicle received a great response, which gives an idea about the success that the vehicle can achieve. There were a lot of enthusiasts looking to buy this hatchback cum crossover. It is being speculated that the Kwid 1L will be even more successful due to a more powerful engine. The Renault Kwid 1L might also have a few other added details like larger tyres, sportier look, etc.
