      Production version ix25 SUV revealed officially in China

      Hyundai Beijing has officially revealed production version of its upcoming compact SUV, ix25 at the 2014 Chengdu Motor Show. The SUV is slated to launch in China on October 10, 2014. Hyundai will also introduce the compact SUV in India by mid-2015. The vehicle was also caught testing recently in India.

      China bound ix25 has bestowed the compact SUV with its upgraded fluidic design philosophy that its other model like Elite i20 and Santa Fe also sports. Front fascia gets three-slat hexagonal chrome grille sporting Hyundai’s badge. Among other exterior features, projector head lights with LED Day time running lights and silver inserts are present. Air intakes have been placed at three places, centre and at either corners flanked by LED fog lamps.

      The SUV body gets bold body lines, sharp edges, flexuous curves scattered across the body. Rear is housed with large Led tail lights, integrated rear spoiler and chrome. As for the dimensions of the compact SUV, it is 4270 mm long, 1780 mm wide, 1622 mm high and boasts a wheelbase of 2590 mm. Electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels enhance the side profile of the vehicle.

      Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets two tone colour scheme, features such as multi-functional steering wheel with controls for audio and telephony, LCD multimedia screen, Push start/stop button, advanced infotainment system, heated seats and automatic air conditioning have been incorporated in the cabin. Hyundai has also equipped Hill Descent function in the SUV.

      In China Hyundai ix25 is available in petrol engine options only a 2.0 litre engine and a 1.6 litre motor. The 2.0 litre engine generates a maximum power output of 160 Bhp on the other hand the 1.6 litre develops top power of 125 Bhp. A six-speed manual and an automatic gearbox could be paired to both the engines.
