      Honda City sedan and Jazz hatchback scores 5 stars in crash test

      Japanese car-maker Honda has always been a strong brand in the global market. Apart from refinement and comfort, Honda cars had also been known for it safety. As per ASEAN NCAP (Association of Southeast Asian Nations – New Car Assessment Program), Honda City and new Jazz have secured five stars in terms of safety. Indian car-maker Tata Motors has also been awarded three stars for its Vista hatchback.

      The Honda cars were Thailand made versions whereas the Tata Vista was made in India version. Top end variants of Honda Jazz and City have received Five stars Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) parameter, whereas their base models have reportedly earned Four stars. In Child Occupant Protection (COP) parameter, both the Honda cars have scored four stars. In both the tests, India made Tata Vista has scored three stars.

      In terms of pointers, Honda City has scored 15.80 from a maximum 16 pointer. Honda Jazz has scored about 15.58 points whereas Tata Vista has scored about 9.24 out of 16. Prior to the latest test numbers Ford Fiesta reportedly scored the highest at 15.73 pointers out of 16 points. As per latest safety standards being implemented by the Indian government, it shall not be far when Indian car-makers start scoring higher on global safety standard tests which will not just benefit local buyers but shall also boost exports.
