      Nissan Sunny launched at killer price of Rs.5.75 lakh

      The Japanese auto giant Nissan has launched its mid size sedan sunny in the Indian market on Tuesday. The all new Japanese beauty has been rolled-out in the price range of Rs.5.75 lakh to Rs.7.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), where it will be taking on with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti SX4, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta.

      Speaking on the occasion, Gilles Normand, corporate vice president, Africa, Middle East and India, Nissan Motor Co, said, "We are certain that Nissan Sunny will redefine the dynamics of the Sedan segment in India."

      The Japanese auto giant has been able to price car competitively by achieving a localization content of 85 percent. New Nissan Sunny will be manufactured at the company’s Oragadam Plant near Chennai.

      While further informing about the latest mid-size sedan Sunny, Mr. Normand said that the company has been able to aggressively position it thanks to localization in excess of 85 percent, which also reiterates our commitment to India."

      Powered by a 1.5-liter double overhead camshaft petrol engine, the Nissan Sunny is capable of delivering a peak power of 99 PS at the rate of 6,000 rpm. The fuel economy of the car is claimed to be 16.95 km per liter ( as per ARAI)

      In a statement given in the press release issued on the occasion, the company said, "Sunny with a 16.95 km per litre of fuel economy will be available to customers across the country without any waiting period for delivery."
