The 2012 Audi A4, one of the much awaited luxury sedans in the Indian market, was recently spotted testing on the Indian roads. Fully covered in camouflaging, the new age Audi A4 hints towards a bigger and more stylish model coming ahead.
It has been speculated in the market that the all new Audi A4 model will be launched in the Indian market in the same timeline when, Audi’s arch rival Mercedes Benz’s upcoming C – Class facelift. This could be the same time, when country’s largest luxury vehicle maker BMW will roll-out its new generation 3 Series model, indicating a real battle coming ahead in this starting range luxury sedan segment.
The launch of new age Audi A4 and upcoming starting range SUV Q3 is in-line with the Audi’s aim of selling 7,500 units of its cars in the Indian market in year 2012. The new age Audi A4 will be powered by a 3.2-liter FSI engine that is expected to replace the older 3-liter TFSI V6 engine. An improvement in the engine power and fuel economy is expected.
Audi is currently the third largest luxury car maker in the Indian market, following BMW and Mercedes Benz at first and second spots respectively. The German auto giant aims to become the largest luxury car maker in the Indian market by year 2015.
