      Nissan India is going to launch its much awaited premium sedan Nissan Sunny. The Nissan Sunny will be the first mid-size sedan available on sale for the Indian customers. Nissan Sunny is going to get competition from the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Suzuki SX4, Hyundai Verna and soon to be launched Ford Fiesta. This particular segment is heating up fast and it seems that Sunny would be able to capitalise in this new trend.

      Coming to the history of Nissan Sunny, it was launched in the year 1966 as the Datsun 1000. It continued till 2004 and in the following year in Japan, its production got ended. Datsun 1000 is still in production today but only for the American, African and Sri Lankan markets. The later models of Nissan came to be known by different names across the globe such as Nissan Sentra in the U.S and Nissan Tsuru in Mexico. All the Nissan models mainly used Nissan A engine.

      The Sunny version that is going to be launched in India has been built on the new 'V' platform similar to Nissan Micra, but it should not be considered as the sedan version of Micra as it is a totally different car. Regarding the engine specifications of this car, the all new Nissan Sunny would be available in both the diesel and petrol engines and it is expected that there would be three variants of this sedan. Loaded with 1.5L petrol and the same of diesel, it will produce a maximum power of 107.5 bhp. The engine will be incorporated with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 4 cylinders and 16 valves will be packed in it.

      Now throwing a light on the interiors of this premium sedan, the Nissan Sunny will be equipped with various specifications like power steering, manual climate control system, power windows, rear parking sensors and many more. Safety measures have also been taken care of as it is facilitated with an Anti-lock braking system and front fog lamps. This new sedan car is going to be an eye-catcher on the Indian roads. The pricing of the new Nissan Sunny is expected to be around Rs.8 lac to Rs.10 lac.
