      Mercedes-Benz launches the GLE-Class

      Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE-Class in India and this new SUV is the replacement name for the ML-Class. It was very recent that Mercedes-Benz had renamed its SUV line-up. With GL standing for SUV and A, C, E and S stands for the sedan category it fallens in.

      The GLE-Class is the new name for the ML-Class and it comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces about 204bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. The GLE-Class also comes with another engine, which is the 350 CDI. This is a V6 engine that churns 258bhp of power and 620Nm of maximum torque.Both these engines come mated to a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC transmission that has been in-house developed by Mercedes-Benz. There are five different driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Slippery, individual and even off-road. This wasn’t there in the ML-Class.

      The GLE-Class gets new 20.3-centimetre screen with COMAND online with WiFi hotspot, touchpad and a new dashboard too. There is also the LED Intelligent Light System as well. These are standard features on the GLE 350 CDI.Then there is also the three zone climate control, six airbags, 360 Camera and Active parking Assist. The new GLE-Class is priced at Rs 58.9 lakhs for the 250 CDI and Rs 69.9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
