Honda CR-V has been one of the most stylish offering from the Japanese carmaker in India as well as overseas. The newest of the lot that was showcased at 2014 Paris Motor Show has already been launched in Indonesia and Thailand market recently. This time its the Malaysian market that has received the new trim of Honda CR-V, the vehicle has been launched at a lucrative price tag of about 1339,800 RM (Rs 23.82 lakh).
The Malaysian trim of Honda CR-V has been launched in three engine options such as - 2.0-litre 2WD, 2.0-litre 4WD and 2.4-litre 4WD. The 2WD trim is powered by five speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels. Whereas, the AWD trim sends power to the rear wheels when required. The top of the line 2.4 Liter AWD trim is mated to CVT transmission that is capable of generating about 188bhp of power with 222 Nm of torque output.
Speaking more on the launch occasion, Yoichiro Ueno, Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer, said, “Based on market feedback, we found that there is a bulging demand for 2-Wheel-Drive-SUVs. Reflecting this demand in our line-up, we are implementing the 2.0L 2WD variant for the New CR-V. We expect the 2.0L 2WD to take the chunk of sales for the CR-Vs this year, and the 2.4L 4WD to make up over 30% from the balance.”
