      Hero MotoCorp to launch 'Dare' and 'Zir' line of power scooters

      It is interesting to see that bike-makers in the country are concentrating on their scooters segment this time around. Moreover, a recent survey on the scooter sales revealed that sales figures have indeed grown by a healthy 18% as compared to the mere 1% noted in the bike segment. India's largest bike-maker Hero MotoCorp has recently showcased two scooters namely – Dare 125 and Zir 150 at the recently concluded 2014 Auto Expo event in Delhi.

      The first one to make it to the Indian roads by mid 2014 would be the Dare 125. The scooter shall be powered by 125cc, air-cooled engine that generates about 9 PS of power with 9.5 Nm of torque. As per sources, the scooter springs to life with an E coded security key. The scooter boasts of some of the interesting features like LED daylight running lamps, full digital instrument console, LED taillight, , boot light and a mobile phone charging socket. For comfort, the scooter comes blessed with telescopic fork for the front and bigger alloy wheels. The body colored caliper further adds to the overall styling. The Dare 125 is designed to appeal to appeal the male race too rather than just being restricted to the fairer sex.

      Another interesting power packed scooter from Hero MotoCorp is the Zir 150. The scooter is expected to launched sometime in the next year. The scooter is expected to be powered by a 157cc, liquid-cooled engine that generates about 14 PS of power with 12.7 Nm of torque. Hero MotoCorp has stated that the bike is capable of reaching a top speed of 110 km/hr making it the fastest one in the country. Moreover, styling is something to watch out for, the scooter sports an aggressive stance. Some of the interesting features in the scooter are petal disc brakes, LED for turn indicators and tail lamp, windscreen and dual projector headlamps.

      Pricing for both the bikes has not been revealed for now. It may be known post an official launch by the Indian bike-maker. Power, looks and performance is what you can expect from these fresh lot.
