Force Motors, a well-appreciated Indian utility and commercial vehicle manufacturer, is all set to enamour car enthusiasts with the launch of its Gurkha Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on domestic turf on February 15, 2013. Top industry experts believe that Force Motors will be projecting its upcoming Gurkha 4x4 SUV as more of a lifestyle product, owing to its unique character, sturdy build and fascinating road presence. The company has crafted the Gurkha carline based on the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon range, which underlines its impressive DNA, glorious heritage and enticing design language.
Speaking of under-the-hood specifications of the yet-to-be launched 2013 Gurkha 4x4, the Force Motors' model is expected to come powered with a 2.6 litre diesel powertrain that will produce a maximum power output around 75 bhp, along with a peak torque delivery close to 190 Nm. The Gurkha 4x4 is anticipated to incorporate a 5 speed manual transmission, which will ensure that the regal SUV treads any demanding and uncertain terrain thrown at it, while engaging in adventurous off-road activities. Interestingly, unlike its predecessors the new Force Gurkha 4x4 range will be compliant with BS IV emission ratings and will be introduced in the big Indian metropolitans.
Force Gurkha 4x4 is a royal SUV and will also appeal to the style conscious Indian buyers who look towards owning a unique and powerful SUV in their garages. The sturdy build and soon-to-be launched Gurkha SUV will come trimmed with huge headlamps, uber-cool alloy wheels, mesmerising interior setting, with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) capability playing the part of a cherry on cake. Industry experts hold the opinion that Force Motors will launch its Gurkha SUV with introductory price tags in the range between Rs. 5.5 lakhs and Rs. 7.5 lakhs in the domestic utility vehicle market. Upon its launch on Indian turf, the Force Gurkha 4x4 will be pitched against the likes of Mahindra Thar and Mahindra Bolero.
