Italian automobile giant Fiat has come up with a new update for its Linea, which was first launched in the global market in the year 2007. A new pair of fog lamps and customised front bumper will be the notable additions on the new Linea. The car maker has done away with the sporty mesh grille but has retained the parabolic headlamps.

The grill on the new car is simpler and has just two horizontal chrome slats with heavy chrome bordering. A very minute cosmetic change can be expected in the boot lid and the bumper of the new car while the sides of the car remain the same. The Linea gets a grille identical to the one on last generation Hyundai Verna, but no longer sports an Audi style 'Bulgarian Beard' type of grille.

Fiat Linea 2012, the previous update of the model, was launched in India in January 2012. Advanced features like automatic rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, optimised air conditioning system and top level ground clearance of 185 mm are provided in the car.

Turkey car market saw the launch of facelifted Linea on 4th May 2012. The new car model is expected to arrive in India by the end of 2012. The new Linea 2013 model launched in Turkey carries the same powertrain option as the earlier version, namely 1.4 litre petrol engine, 1.4 litre T-jet petrol engine and 1.3 litre Multi-jet diesel variant and 1.6 litre Multi-jet diesel engine.

It seems like the Italian car maker is making all necessary efforts to attract potential customers by the Fiat Linea 2013. However, sales of the car model have not improved in India even after receiving the upgrades. While the competitors like Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid sells more then 2,500 vehicles per month, Linea finds it difficult to touch the mark of 500 units.

After calling off the Tata-Fiat joint dealership agreement, the Italian company is moving alone on setting up a dealership network in India. The company plans to establish its independent dealerships in more than 100 cities of India over the next couple of years.
