As per a latest update, the Ferrari in its attempt to play good to nature, is considering to utilize a turbocharger for its V8 engine. The attempt is expected to aid in reducing the Co2 emission levels being produced by the vehicle. Based on reports it is anticipated that the 458 may be powered by 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor as seen with the California T variant. The new engine may be tweaked to deliver about 670 HP. The upcoming Ferrari 458 facelift may be rechristened as 458M or 458T.

Amedeo Felisa, Ferrari’s CEO, said to BS Motoring, “The 458M’s engine will rev higher and be larger than the California T’s. It’s also likely that the motor in the 458M will feature larger turbos and dry sump lubrication.” The newer version may receive fresh upgrades for the interiors and the exterior of the vehicle. The Italian car-maker has chosen to remain tight-lipped about the developments. Speaking more on he developments AE said, “Just as importantly, the 458 is well known for its tail-happy character. With natural aspiration, the linear power delivery meant it was easy for the driver to modulate the power. Well, Ferrari will strive to bring the turbo’s behavior as close to this as possible. Spanners crossed.”
