Audi, the German automaker, will launch a bunch of facelifts and new cars in India this year. One of them is the new-generation Audi TT coupe, which is scheduled to go on sale tomorrow. Based on VW’s MQB platform, the 2015 Audi TT coupe is largely inspired from the Audi R8, and also shares some styling elements with the Audi Prologue concept. The new model wears more aggressive and bold stance than the previous one. The wheelbase and length of the car are increased marginally, whereas the width is reduced. The height of the car, however, remains unchanged.

With extensive use of aluminum, the 2015 model weighs 50kgs - 70kgs lighter than the old one. Except for the trapezoidal grille with LED headlights, larger air ducts, modified rear bumper and LED taillights, the entire silhouette and design remain same. On the interior, the new-gen TT coupe gets a new 12.3-inches digital instrumentation cluster, new multifunction flat steering and Bang & Olufsen music system with 12 speakers, 14 channel amplifier and 2 woofers.

Powering the 2015 Audi TT is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all wheel-drive system. The engine churns out a maximum power of 227bhp with 370Nm of torque. Audi will also offer a more powerful TTS variant with over 295.9 horsepower, but it won’t make its way to India anytime soon. Expected to be priced between Rs. 50 lakh – Rs. 60 lakh, the new-gen Audi TT coupe will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz SLK, Porsche Boxster and BMW Z4.
