The LA Auto Show has been scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 9 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. At present, Audi's diesel portfolio comprises just two models - Q7 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and compact A3 in the American auto market. The German car maker has confirmed on Monday, November 19, 2012 that it will introduce diesel models of its A8, A7, A6 and Q5 vehicles. Reportedly, the new diesel Audis boast off an increased fuel economy close to 30 per cent as compared to their petrol powered contemporaries.

Evidently, Audi TDI diesel motors are one of the most fuel economical engines in auto industry and have been helping its customers in saving close to 4 million gallons of fuel since its launch in US three years back in 2009. The excess fuel efficiency bears no impression whatsoever on the power and performance ratings. The Audi diesel TDI engines roll out a maximum power output of 240 bhp along with a peak torque delivery of around 550 Nm. The vehicles featuring the 3.0 litre TDI diesel powerplant can glide from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 6.4 seconds. The fuel economies stand at 8 km per litre in routine city traffic, while on highways it increases to 12 km per litre of diesel.
