The Indian arm of Porsche, a world renowned German auto maker of ultra-modish sports and luxury cars, has registered its best ever sales performance at 117 units in domestic market during October 2012. Apart from announcing the incredible sales figures, Porsche India also introduced a new seventh generation variant of its 911 Carrera sports car along with an all new Boxter S for the Indian market.

Porsche India is official importer of Porsche models in the country and had begun retail operations in October 2012 itself, since it became a subdivision of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd earlier this year.

Expressing his delight at the impressive sales numbers, Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India, said, “It has been a very exciting past six months for us at Porsche India, and we are thrilled with the pace of our network expansion and new model launches in the country. Our first full month sales result in October has been in excess of 100 units, which is the best-ever for the brand here. It sets us on course for a good rest of the year.” The head of Porsche India affirmed that the launch of new models will come handy in capturing the imagination of Indian car enthusiasts and admirers of the German car maker alike.

Reportedly, Porsche, the wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, had registered sales of 312 units between January and December period of 2011. The German auto maker's Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Cayenne accounted for about 84 per cent of its sales in the Indian premium imported car market.
