      Audi India sales surge 35 percent in October 2011

      Audi India, the third largest luxury car maker in the country, has registered a sales surge of 35 percent in the month of October 2011. The company sold a total of 482 units of its cars in the month of October 2011 as compared to 357 units of its cars sold in the month of October 2010.

      In the first 10 months of this calendar year (January to October 2011), the German auto giant managed to sell a total of 4692 units of its cars in the Indian market as compared to 2535 cars sold in the same period last year, accounting for a sales surge of over 85 percent.

      In this year, Audi has launched 6 new car models in the Indian market and plans to open a new plant in Indore. Moreover the firm is also strengthening its position in the Indian market by strengthening its dealership network in the country. The car maker looks forward to become the top luxury car seller in the Indian market by year 2014.

      Commenting on the company’s performance during the month, Mr. Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India said that the firm continues to appeal the select class of Indians and he is confident that the Audi will be able to increase its targets of 5000 units per annum.
