Ashok Leyland introduced the rebadged version of the Evalia MPV as the Stile in the country. The company aimed to improve its sales, however the car failed to generate volume. Ashok Leyland has managed to sell around 1000 units only of the Stile multi-purpose vehicle in the country since its launch in October 2013. In order to improve its sales, the home-grown commercial vehicle maker is now aiming to launch the facelifted version of the MPV.

At the time of launch, the Stile missed out on few features that were available with the Evalia. However, the company did add some features including bucket seats for second row, rear AC vents, covered glove box and sliding windows for the middle row, and some revised design. It will be interesting to see what Ashok Leyland will change to create some buzz among passenger van buyers. Moreover, the company might also reduce the pricing to boost its sales in the country.

The homegrown automaker is also aiming to establish standalone dealerships in cities to reach maximum MPV buyers of the country. The Stile is the first product from Ashok Leyland in the passenger car market. Manufactured in Chennai, the Stile MPV is powered by a 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 75bhp and a peak torque of 185Nm. The MPV is available in both 7 and 8 seat variants. The current model is priced in the range of Rs. 7.49 lakh - Rs. 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
