India's most affordable hatchback Nano had kicked off really well in the Indian market when it was launched in the country, but over a period of time the the sales for the small car witnessed a steady decline. To get a grip over the situation, Tata Motors has reportedly been working on a new generation Nano that shall be loaded with new set of features and a bigger engine. Owing to fresh upgrades the vehicle is likely to cost a little extra than the existing trim.
As stated to Europe AutoNews, Ratan Tata, Tata Group's Chairman, said that the common complaint of customers stating that Nano is noisy shall be addressed by a larger engine in plan. The company has also stated that it would not halt the sales of current generation trim even when as it plans to introduce a new trim. Apart from the Indian market, the small car is also likely to find presence in certain African as well as Indonesian markets. The company has not spoken on the technical aspect yet and may be known at a later date.
