SYNC System In Ford EcoSport...

Ford EcoSport is the compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the American auto giant that was launched in India during 2013. The car was greeted with many plaudits by the media as well as auto connoisseurs from all over the world. With this compact SUV, the company marked its advent in the respective segment and also brought a new automobile technology along with it. The much hyped SYNC system of Ford was launched in the nation with this car only and the same was being anticipated with eager eyes. This feature was completely new as the likes of its have not been perceived in any of the Ford cars in India.

The SYNC system has been a part of almost all the global models of the company since the year 2007 and has been built to offer a better machine-human interfacing. In the Ford EcoSport, this function has been provided along with a touchscreen infotainment system. This automobile technology is basically a voice-over controlled entertainment and communication system, which can be connected to any of the supported electronic devices, such as a tablet, smartphone or an iPod. The feature allows people to make and answer calls, read messages, surf the internet and monitor the multimedia system. All these functions can be performed through this function by just using the voice commands and not even touching the screen.

There are basically two methods with which the devices can be connected to the SYNC system of Ford EcoSport and these are – through Bluetooth or a USB Drive. With the help of the first method, a user can connect two 0 his/her devices simultaneously with the car. Interestingly, the devices can be set priority as primary and secondary, and the one chosen as the primary can be used for communication purposes. This lets other people to connect their phones and devices as secondary for the entertainment feature. Furthermore, the option of a USB drive allows the driver to plug-in a USB drive for the sole purpose of entertainment. People can listen to music and also control it with the help of a voice module.

The SYNC system has been developed on the Microsoft's platform and uses a software, which has been derived from the Windows Embedded Automotive operating system. The company also keeps generating new updates for this system so as to convert it into a one-stop-shop for all passengers. It must be noted that this feature is also a safety aspect of the car as it automatically dial an emergency assist number all by itself during any adversity or whenever the airbags are deployed.

A total of 3 devices can be connected to this system at once and all these can be utilised to regulate major functions of the car. Such type of automatic technology does not only make the machine-human interface convenient but also helps in making car driving more fun. The feature is not arduous to handle and can be easily operated by even a minor. People inclined towards this type of feature and want to utilise it can also look for Ford used cars in the market.
