Nissan Leaf is an all-electric hatchback, which was launched worldwide by the Japanese auto major during 2011. This green car is incorporated with a powerful 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is adjoined by a heavy 80kW AC synchronous electric motor. Nissan Leaf has been present in the global automotive market for quite a sufficient time now and has been able to gain huge plaudits from the auto connoisseurs. There is also an on-board charger, which is a standard feature on the SV and SL trims but optional in the S variant. This 6.6kW charger helps in reducing the 220V full charge time to almost half.

Once full charged, the electric car has the ability to cover a distance of 150-160 km before all the energy gets drained. A quick charge port is also provided as standard in the car that allows it to get 80 per cent charged within 30 minutes at various public charging stations. The company claims that Nissan Leaf can deliver a fuel economy figure of a whopping 54 kmpl on highway and 43 kmpl on city roads. The car features no tailpipe as there are no CO2 emissions from this hatchback that can pollute the environment. This eco-friendly car is available in the global market within a price range of approximately Rs. 15 lakh – Rs. 19 lakh.

The electric car from Nissan features an aerodynamically-enhanced layout and a number of styling cues can be witnessed at its exterior as well as interior. This car has an overall dimension measured at 4445 mm at length, 1550 mm at height, 1770 mm at width and 2700 mm at wheelbase, indicating there is ample space at the inside. Aerodynamic halogen lights are provided as standard in all the models, whereas the LEDs are optional. At the inside, this electric model features sufficient legroom and shoulder space; thus, indicating that it can be utilised as a family car as well. Features of Nissan Intelligent Key with push start button, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, automatic temperature control and tilt-steering column are standard in this green car.
