Yamaha has recently unveiled the YZF-R3, which is a bike intended to be launched in Europe and the United Kingdom in the next calendar year. The bike is powered by a 320 cc, twin-cylinder engine, which is powered by the YZF-R25 engine. It has a bulkier build, and works less hard to improve the performance on the whole.
The R25 is currently on sale in a number of South-east Asian markets. The new R3 will generate a total power of 42 PS and a net torque of 27 Nm. However, the new engine is capable of producing more power than R25. Astonishingly, the engine is also capable of producing more power than the Ninja 300. On the contrary, the new engine is also capable of producing more power than CBR300R. If the tuning goes as good as it is expected, the new model can go as far as competing against the RC 390.
This bike will shortly be finding a place in the Indian market, and on the other hand YZF-R25 will not be making to this market. Whatever might be the scenario, the new bike is set to make an impact in the market and take on the rivals. It has been particularly designed to suit the South Asian roads and is sure to become a hit once it is launched in 2015.
