The 2013 Detroit Auto Show left most global car enthusiasts gasping for breath with a number of stunning, futuristic, one-of-a-kind and world-class vehicle displays. The year's first major automotive event ended on a great note and showcased the new face of coming-of-age global automobile industry.
General Motors unveiled their new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 super sports car at the show. The new Corvette Stingray is 100 pounds lighter and comes trimmed with five way drive selector and the cutting edge magnetic ride control shocks. The powerful car was arguably the most memorable showcase at 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Honda Motor Company, the well-appreciated Japanese auto major, thrilled the global audience with its Urban SUV concept at the Detroit auto salon. The stunning compact crossover managed a lot of positive comments from top industry critics and became an instant crowd puller, because of its unique styling and aesthetically pleasing visual appeal.
Volkswagen, the world renowned German automotive giant, pulled the covers off its CrossBlue Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), which will be offered in diesel, electric and hybrid options in Detroit. The company claims its CrossBlue SUV will be one of the most efficient vehicles, when it is commercially introduced in the global auto industry.
Another head turning model, the Acura NSX super sports car concept was also unveiled during the Detroit auto salon. The new Acura NSX is a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive vehicle, which underlines the company's efforts towards making powerful and affordable supercars, which are also green and pose lesser threat to the environment.
