Volvo has just launched the much anticipated long wheelbase version of the S90 in China. The car, designed primarily for Chinese luxury car buyers, boasts of added legroom at the rear for improved comfort.
The S90 long wheelbase has been introduced in China with prices ranging between 399.800 yuan (Rs 39.08 lakh) and 579.800 yuan (Rs 56.67 lakh) in China. Powering it is a 2-litre petrol engine that can be had in two different state of tunes – 190bhp and 254bhp, both paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
For this new S90, Volvo has stretched the car’s wheelbase by up to 12cm for more room at the back. The car, as a result, competes with the long wheelbase BMW 5Li, Jaguar XFL and Mercedes E-Class L.
Given that luxury car owners here in India have similar buying preferences, it does not seem out of place for Volvo to bring the S90 long wheelbase to India.
