BMW X2 snapped testing in cold weather

After BMW revealed the Concept X2 at the Paris Motor Show earlier this year, the car was shot in Sweden undergoing cold weather testing.

BMW’s X2 is underpinned by the X1’s platform and in the process will also share the engines. These comprise of three and four cylinder petrol and diesel motors for the European market, and only petrol models for the USA. BMW is expected to offer the X2 in both FWD and AWD versions, and eventually plans to have a plug-in hybrid version by the year 2020.

The fascia of the X2 reveals a wide unmistakeable kidney grille with aggressively raked head lamps on either side, and wider intakes on the bumper section. Reports suggest that the X2 is slated to roll into showrooms globally in early 2018, and should be targeted at young buyers who will appreciate the sleek design.

Sources estimate that the price for the BMW X2 should be slightly more than a range topping X1. Considering the boom in this segment globally, BMW may bring this model to our shores after all.
