      Volkswagen Polo to get additional features

      According to a report, Volkswagen India is planning to update the feature list of the Polo hatchback. With extra features on offer, the company might increase the price of the vehicle. While the Polo Trendline and Comfortline trim levels are expected to be get pricier by Rs. 5,000 (approx.), the Highline trim will see a price hike of Rs. 15,000 (approx.). The updated Polo is likely to be launched by the end of this month (August, 2015).

      New features that will be introduced on the Polo hatchback include a cooled glove box, electrically foldable door mirrors and cruise control. These are the same features that were introduced on the Vento sedan facelift launched on June 23, 2015. The updated model will continue to be available with two petrol – a 74bhp, 1.2-litre and a 103bhp, 1.2-litre - and two diesel – a 89bhp, 1.5-litre and a 103bhp, 1.5-litre - engine options. Transmissions on offer will also remain the same – a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG (direct-shift gearbox) automatic.

      Features that the updated model will carry forward from the old model are ‘Climatronic’ automatic air conditioning, speed-sensing electronic power steering, monochrome multi-function display, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS), dual front airbags, 4-peakers music system with CD/ MP3 player, SD card input, Aux-in and USB support, Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones and voice command, height adjustable driver’s seat, etc.
