      Volkswagen likely to integrate Apple CarPlay app in cars later this year

      German carmaker Volkswagen moves a step ahead in delivering better car ownership experience to owners. The company being a part this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2015) has announced that it shall run the CarPlay app alongside Volkswagen's new in-car infotainment system that is well known as MIB II. Moreover, the vehicles shall also get , Android Auto and Mirrorlink connectivity options. To be launched in the North America and Europe markets, the three app and smartphone mirroring technologies shall be branded and feature under the VW App-Connect label.

      The app layout has been designed for easy sync with numerous smart-phones like Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony. Volkswagen had been the only leading carmaker that was away with this Apple technology and now with fresh upgrades, the group has now joined the bandwagon with the likes of Alpine, BMW, Nissan, Peugeot Citroën, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai-Kia, Jaguar Land Rover, Daimler AG, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Volvo.
