The Triumph Street Triple 765 has been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The manufacturer has started its bookings and deliveries will commence in the coming week.
For now, Triumph has introduced the S variant, but not the full-fat RS version yet. The new Street Triple 765 S derives power from a three-cylinder 765cc, DOHC, in-line mill that churns out 112bhp of power and 73Nm of torque. This liquid-cooled, 12 valve engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The new Triumph Street Triple 765 is lighter and more powerful compared to the outgoing 675, and the all-new engine means that the chassis also has changed to accommodate the new engine and its characteristics. The S also gets ABS, traction control, a quickshifter, and adjustable levers amongst other electronic aids.
Triumph India's 'Make in India' campaign will now be spearheaded by the new Street Triple 765. Also, the ratio of the range will now be 90 per cent assembled in India.
