      Japanese carmaker Toyota has been widely known for its technological potential in hybrid cars across the globe. In recent times, the Prius hybrid sedan from Toyota has globally earned respect for its reliability. Moving a step ahead this time, Toyota Motor Corporation has announced its plans to test electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Aichi Prefecture from November 1 to March 15, 2015. The test shall reportedly be conducted through joint efforts made by four municipalities namely - Toyohashi City, Kariya City, Toyota City, and Nagakute City; and two companies namely - oyota Industries Corporation and UNY Co., Ltd.

      For tests, the company shall install about 147 chargers that includes 43 newly installed chargers and about 104 installed in or prior to the last fiscal year. To encourage use of chargers and publizise tests, Toyota shall be handing out leaflets that give information on charging locations and areas where municipal facilities can be availed.

      Based on last year's test results, Toyota may install chargers at certain locations where charger use has been heavy previously. The company shall ascertain the optimal number and location of charging stations to enable their ease of use. The test will be based on Identifying ideal charger locations and operating methods by means of monitoring usage in terms of charging frequency and duration for each day and hour at each of the facility.
