Tata Motors will launch the updated Safari Storme in early 2015. The vehicle would receive mild upgrades to both exteriors and interiors. The SUV is also expected to get a more powerful engine option.

First launched in 2012, the Storme facelift would get new front fascia with a Land Rover inspired honeycomb grille, all-new bumper, silver inserts to fog lamp enclosures and slightly modified headlamps. The side profile of the SUV is expected to remain unchanged, while the rear end gets subtle tweaks to bumper and tail lamps.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle is expected to get an all-new dashboard. It features a large touchscreen unit that is also offered on the updated Tata Aria. It will also serve as display for the reversing camera. The third row seating arrangement could be the front facing instead of the twin jump-seat arrangement in the current model. The top-spec model is likely to get captain seats for the second row occupants.

Under the bonnet, the updated Safari Storme will be powered by a 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine that also does duty in the Tata Aria. This engine is capable of producing 148bhp of top power and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine has been re-tuned to offer more power and fuel efficiency. The power delivery will be more linear and offers hassle free driving experience.
