As expected the model is powered by 3.0L D4 diesel engine capable of delivering power of 171PS @ 3600rpm. It offers sturdy performance with long wheelbase, high ground clearance, excellent driving experience on rough terrains with full time 4-wheel drive.
Toyota Fortuner promised to deliver unmatched combination of power and luxury and with the first looks of the car, it definitely looks like Toyota has fulfilled the promise. The car was launched in Delhi in presence of Mr. Akira Okabe (Senior Managing Director, TMC), Mr. Vikram Kirloskar (Vice-Chairman, TKM), Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa (MD, TKM), Mr. Kaoru Hosokawa (Chief Engineer, TMC) and Mr. Sandeep Singh (DMD, Marketing, TKM).
The new sports utility vehicle carries old school design with a large stance. The interiors are said to be of the highest comfort and the car comes with a touch screen panel for audio system, GPS etc. Toyota expects the Fortuner to grab a larger market share in the SUV segment and with the first impression of the car, it seems that it has good chances.
