      Toyota Kirloskar registers over two fold increase in November with high sales of Etios series

      Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian unit of the Japan based leading car maker Toyota, has registered more than 200 percent increase in its sales during the month of November 2011. The company managed to sell a total of 13,956 units in the month of November, 2011 as compared to 5,242 units sold in the same month last year, said the company in a statement issued on Thursday.

      The mass segment cars including entry level sedan Etios and compact hatchback Liva remained a major contributor in the company’s sales during the month. While the total sales of Etios sedan stood at 3,943 units during this month, the Liva hatchback clocked 4,328 units in November 2011. On the other hand, the multi utility vehicle Innova clocked 8,271 units during this month.

      While commenting on the company’s performance during the month, Toyota Kirloskar Motors’ Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) Sandeep Singh said, "We are very happy with the overwhelming response and confidence shown by our customers in the Etios and Etios Liva. The Etios series has sold a total of 8,271 units in November."
