Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the highest volume driving car maker in the Indian market, said on Thursday that it is expecting its Manesar plant to run on full capacity by the month of January 2012. The company is aiming to produce 800 cars per day at this plant from next month.

Maruti is currently reviving the production at this plant that has witnessed a series of strikes in last few months. The recent labor problem at the Manesar plant of the company has caused a production loss of about 83,000 cars to the Indian auto giant, converting into a revenue loss of $500 million.

As per a recent statement given by Maruti's head of marketing and sales, Mr. Mayank Pareek, the situation in the market has been extremely sluggish since last few months. Maruti Suzuki has reported a fall of 18.5 percent in its monthly sales during the month of November.

At present, Maruti Suzuki produce over 12 lakh cars per annum at its two facilities in Haryana. While Gurgaon plant produces about 8.5 lakh cars per annum, the Manesar unit produces about 3.5 lakh units per annum. The company is gradually increasing this capacity, and aims to produce 17.5 lakh units per annum in next few years.
