      Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Private Limited (TKMIPL), an Indo-Japanese joint venture partnership between Kirloskar Group and Toyota Motor Corp., has devised a major management restructure to enhance its decision making processes and bolstering organization’s domestic operations.       As per reports, TKMIPL’s entire top level management is going to see a reshuffle in responsibilities, which will be effective from New Year’s Day January 1, 2013. Shekar Viswanathan, the current Deputy Managing Director of Commercial vehicle division of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has been promoted to the top position of a Vice Chairman of External Affairs.

      Further, Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has now been given the superior responsibilities of both Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. Accordingly, from January 1, 2013, Singh will start office as the Head of Commercial, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service divisions of TKMIPL.

      Masanori Takahashi, the present Deputy Managing Director (Technical and Purchase), Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has also been promoted and given the roles of Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. Hence, from January 1, 2013, Takahashi will resume responsibilities as Head of Manufacturing, Purchase, Technical and Vendor Development operations of TKMIPL in the country. Further, Shigeru Tomonaga has been given the task of working as Chief of Supplier Support Centre and Executive Advisor to the Board of Directors of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

      Expressing his views on the reshuffle of top level management of the organisation, Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, was quoted as saying, “As we expand our operations in India, we need our team to take up new roles and responsibilities. I wish my colleagues the best for their new endeavours.”
