      Tata Sport expected to launch this year

      Based on the Bolt hatchback platform, Tata Motors had showcased performance oriented ‘Sport’ hatchback at the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo event. Sources have revealed that the vehicle could possibly be launched sometime soon in India. As seen at the event, the vehicle featured 17-inch alloy rims, rear spoiler, side intake, and larger intake system. Moreover, the vehicle also featured a ‘S’ badging instead of the regular Tata badge.

      The Tata Sport is powered by the company’s very own 1.2-litre Revotron engine, but this engine has been retuned by Jayem Automotive, a Coimbatore based company to generate a powerful 108bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm. Mated to 5-speed manual transmission, the vehicle is capable of doing a 0-100 km/h in just about 12 seconds.

      The performance oriented Sport gets disc on all four wheels for maximum control. Moreover, the vehicle continues to be offered with different drive modes – City, Eco and Sport modes. For high speed handling, the Tata Sport gets re-tuned spring system for an enhanced drive quality. Details on the pricing aspect is not known for now, it is anticipated that the company ay price it between 8-12 lakh range.
