Tata Motors is trying everything to improve the sales of its Nano brand in the country. The homegrown automaker timely added new features and variants to keep things fresh in the market. This time, the company is aiming to add a new trim, the Nano Twist XE, to its lineup. It will be an entry level trim, and the current base models Nano CX and Nano LX is likely to be discontinued. The company will continue to sell the Twist XT trim.

The new trim is expected to be made available in December this year. The vehicle would be offered in two trim levels- the base Twist XE and the top-spec Twist XT. Interestingly, the Nano will come equipped with power steering as standard feature.

The new XE trim will get similar features and looks. The small car will sport black bumpers and steel wheels without wheel caps. The vehicle would get new and larger steering wheel. Other features include new instrument panel that comprises of trip meter, and fuel economy and distance to empty display and digital clock. Rest, the vehicle would source components from the Nano CX trim. The base Nano Twist XE would be offered in three exterior shades including silver, gold and white.

Tata Motors is also contemplating an AMT version of the Nano Twist, which has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads. However, the company hasn't revealed the exact launch date of the car. We expect that the Nano AMT would go on sale in the early next year.
