      Tata Nano may hit European market in next 2-3 years

      The Indian auto giant Tata Motors may roll-out its little car Tata Nano in the European market by the year 2013, as per a statement given by Tata's CEO to a paper in Frankfurt. Answering a query regarding the launch of Nano in the European market, Tata Motor's CEO Mr. Carl-Peter Forster told German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau, "We don't know yet. But it will certainly take two to three years."

      It has been more than one year since the speculations of Tata Nano entering European market have been doing rounds in the Industry. The European version of the car is expected to come equipped with a range of luxury features including the likes of power steering, ABS and even airbags.

      Moreover, the car would be compatible with the new Euro-V emission norms applicable in the European market. Moreover, the same deluxe model of Nano is expected to be rolled-out in the Indian market after a few months of its European launch.

      In India, the Nano model has registered a double fold increase in sales in the month of February 2011. The company managed to sell about 8,262 units of the car in the country during the month.
