Erik Buell Racing has recently released the pricing and specifications of its much-awaited 1190SX Streetfighter, a road-only version of the track-only 1190RX. It has been tagged at USD 16995; a tad lower than its racing version. The Wisconsin-based manufacturer had kept the specifications and pricing under the wraps, however it seems that they have given in to the much anticipation of the fans. The superbike is all set to be released somewhere in 2015 and the pricing now just takes it a step further.

The bike is using a 72-degree V-twin, which can be traced to its superbike twin, EBR 1190RX. The 1190 cc engine churns out a maximum power of 185 hp at approximately 10600 rpm. The peak torque of 138 Nm is achieved at 8200 rpm and when converted comes to 101.6 pounds per feet. However, some specs have not been made public as of now. It is yet to be seen whether the 21-level traction control system of the RX fame has been employed by the SX or not. It is powered by an electronic fuel injection with dual fort injectors and two showerhead injectors.

The bodywork of the racing version has been eliminated and 1190SX has been suitable for the street appeal. With its strong specs and sharp looks, it will definitely provide a tough competition to its rivals. The tuning was expected to be slightly down toned just to bring that sombre touch, which was not the case in RX1190. But, it seems that the power output is exactly similar to the racing variety and EBR has done a good job to keep the ruthless touch intact even if it is a street variant.

The hydraulic actuation, vacuum operated slipper clutch makes sure that making a transition between the gears is a smooth affair. Aluminium frame has been installed with an integral fuel reservoir. The Showa inverted big piston front fork suspension makes for a comfortable ride, even on bumpy road. Showa single shock without linkage rear suspension is just the perfect thing for the rear wheel. The 386 mm single perimeter 8-piston calliper front brakes provide unique grip even on the most slippery road. The 220 mm disc, dual-piston calliper complements on the rear wheels. The bike is on its way on 2015 and leading models will be given a run for their money because of its high-end features and a comparatively cheaper price.
