The Skoda’s Vision S concept has caught the fancy of many across the globe. In production form, the vehicle is expected to be rechristened as ‘Kodiaq’ or ‘Kodiak’. The SUV based on Skoda’s all new design language will debut in India next year. The vehicle will be offered in five and seven-seat options. The pricing aspect is unknown for now, but we anticipate that the vehicle will be priced under Rs 30 lakh.

The Skoda Vision S will be offered in four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options. The engines will be offered in a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic unit. On the design aspect, the Vision S will get a wide trapezoid grille, higher positioned headlamps infused with LED technology and unique signature daytime running lights. The rear section gets LED rear lights made from multifaceted cut crystal glass. The long rear spoiler with narrow rear window adds to its sporty appeal. Inside, the SUV will get 12-inch digital instrument panel and a vertically aligned 8-inch screen in the central console. The interiors will get a rich upholstery to deliver a premium feel.

At the Geneva motor show, the company had also showcased the Vision S plug-in hybrid concept, however this will not be introduced in India anytime soon. Post launch, the vehicle will compete against the upcoming second generation Toyota Fortuner and the Volkswagen Tiguan, along with the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe and the Ford Endeavour in India.
