Skoda has finally decided to feed the market with teaser images of the Karoq, their latest compact SUV. The official reveal of this vehicle is expected to take place in the next few weeks.

The Karoq gets a proper SUV style design. The fascia looks like a proper Skoda with a large grille which is flanked by big headlamp units. The LED headlights will be part of the optional accessories. The LED tail lamps, however, are standard. This five-seater SUV has borrowed some features from the Kodiaq which sits at the top of Skoda’s line-up.

The Skoda Karoq is powered by an entry-level 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TSI motor that features an active cylinder technology. There’s also a new diesel 1.6-litre TDI engine and a new 2.0-litre TDI motor. This compact SUV will be offered with two- and four-wheel drive options. The customers also have the option to choose from a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The top-end models will get driving modes like normal, eco, sport, individual and snow.

This Skoda is 4382mm long, 1841mm wide and 1605mm high. The boot of the Karoq has a capacity of 521 litres which can be increased to 1630 litres with the rear seats folded down. There’s also a VarioFlex rear seats that gives the flexibility of converting boot space between 479 litres and 588 litres.

The Czech manufacturer hasn’t talked about an India launch, but we’re expecting that the company would showcase this SUV at 2018 Auto Expo.
