      Skoda Auto India Sales up by 20 percent

       Skoda Auto India has recently reported a 20 per cent hike in sales for the month of August this year in comparison to the same month last year. Last year the company reported sales of 1,512 units in August, which has reportedly increased to 1,812 units this year.

      One of the board members from sales and marketing proudly mentioned, “We are extremely positive about Skoda Auto's growth trajectory in India. Our endeavour is to consistently provide consumers with value products and services is one of the key factors contributing to our growth”. He also added that the entry level sedan which will launch by the end of this year is expected to reach new set of audiences.  

      Skoda Auto India Private Limited entered the Indian automobile market about a decade ago in November 2001. Skoda Octavia was the first car launched by this company that belonged to the premium segment. Since then, there was no stopping Skoda and today this company has become one of the most trusted brands in the Indian car market.

      This company is a fully owned subsidiary of Volkswagen, which is Europe's largest car manufacturer. During 2008, the reported sales of Skoda vehicles were more than 16,000 units, which was 28.5 per cent increment from the sales in 2007. Skoda Auto used to have only one manufacturing unit, which was in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. However, during May 2009, Skoda started manufacturing its cars at Volkswagen plant in Pune, which is till date shared by both units manufacturing about 110,000 cars in a year. Skoda Auto India also exports domestic manufactured cars to many Asian countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

      Skoda cars are primarily popular for excellent performance, comfort, fuel economy, advanced technologies and ride quality. Presently, Skoda has become a wealthy contender in the global automobile market and is consistently planning to introduce new models in order to maintain its position. Moreover, with new launches like Skoda Laura RS, the company is expected to reach greater heights and further increase its sales.  

      Apart from providing quality and reasonably priced cars, another favourable reason for Skoda Auto India to gain success can be accounted to their dealership network and after sales services. This network is still expanding, however, Skoda currently has 82 showrooms all across the country. The company has also announced an interesting after sales programme called, 27x7 Skoda Roadside Assistance Programme.

      This programme has been introduced to improve the customer's experience with Skoda vehicles. The assistance programme will be completely free of charge for every Skoda owner for the first 2 years. Skoda Auto also plans to launch new models by the end of this year to further enhance its sales. One of the cars that will launch by end of this year is Skoda Fabia Combi, which scores in terms of comfort, performance and fuel efficiency. Another model to be launched, Skoda Fabia Scout is a crossover version of Skoda Fabia. Moreover, Skoda SK125, an upcoming sports model is also expected to be launched by the company in the near future.

      With the new launches, lucrative offers and attainment of customer satisfaction, Skoda strives to keep up with the trend of increased sales.
