Based in Gurgaon and reporting directly to the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of Eicher Motors Ltd. Rudratej Singh was recently appointed as the President of Royal Enfield. Being given the responsibility for the global as well as after sales, along with brand marketing and development of new strategies, Rudratej Singh has been brought in to give the company a fresh perspective. He will look out for the commercial business of Royal Enfield, a company that shot to success because of the bold looks and unique features of its bikes.
He will also be in the forefront for promoting new areas that Royal Enfield wants to get into, including the in-plan accessories and apparels area. Mr. Singh was previously placed at Unilever in Singapore, as the Vice-President for its Home and Personal Care and Foods Marketing Operations.
Commenting on his appointment, Siddhartha Lal, MD & CEO, Eicher Motors Ltd. said that Rudratej joins Royal Enfield after heading various global brands and businesses for almost twenty years across emerging and developed markets. He also said that Rudratej’s vast experience in the development of marketing mix and the managing of brand equity along with the rich global perspective will further aid the company in its objective of conquering the mid-sized motorcycling segment. To add to that, he said that he was happy to welcome Rudratej to the Royal Enfield family and that hepossessed the quality that would take Royal Enfield to new heights in the coming future.
With many accolades in his bank, one of them being the Marketer of the Year for Unilever’s Oral Care by the World CMO Council while in Singapore, Singh is also an avid gold player. When asked for his comments, he said that Royal Enfield has been on a thrilling journey with a record growth in the recent years.
Also an avid speaker, Rudratej Singh has been successful in his venture with Unilever while in Singapore. He is also a part of the Asia CMO board. The Chennai-based company has a long list of vehicles to its name, Bullet being the most profound one. He will also spearhead many new opportunities that Royal Enfield can encompass, other than apparels and accessories. Rudratej Singh himself rides a Royal Enfield Continental GT during his leisure time.
