The Kwid hatchback has been a top seller for Renault in India. Recently, news had also emerged that the company has been planning on starting a third shift for production of Kwid hatchback. This time around fresh reports have emerged that the company plans to start exports of its hatchback to certain African countries and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Corporation) nations soon. Apart from this, the company would also start spare part exports to Brazil.
The SAARC market may receive the vehicle via the CBU route, while in African and Latin American region it would be introduced via the CKD route. The one serving the Indian market comes with an 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine that generates about 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. The automaker had also showcased the bigger 1.0-litre variant at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2016 in India. the top-end version comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with navigations support.
