      Renault plans on 175 dealerships by the end of 2014 as part of its major dealership expansion program

      Renault has been a popular brand in the global market but the car-maker gained popularity on Indian soil recently with the launch of Renault Duster. To further strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile market, Renault has reportedly been working on a major dealership expansion program. The car-maker is planning to ramp up its service network with about 175 dealership outlets by the end of this year. Recently, Renault has inaugurated the 141th dealership outlet in Kondapur near the IT hub in Hyderabad.

      Post the inauguration of Hyderabad showroom, Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director for Renault India said, “Network reach is vital in ensuring Renault’s increasing visibility across the country and South has played key role in success so far. With today’s inauguration, we look forward to extending our presence in this important market as well as offer excellent brand experience for customers - from the very first test drive, to delivery and after sales.” It has taken about three years for Renault to set-up about 141 dealership outlet in the country and by this year the company plans on reaching about 175 dealership outlets in the country. With this, the company believes that it shall reach out to a wider set of audience in the country.

      Renault is also expected to bring-in the newer version of Duster with a 4x4 wheel drive next month. The Renault Duster 4x4 variant is expected to be offered as the top-of-the line variant and shall be priced at about one lakh extra than the regular variant. The upcoming Renault Duster 4x4 is stated to be powered by the existing 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that generates a maximum power output of about 108.5 bhp with a peak torque of about 248 Nm. The six-speed manual transmission gearbox efficiently transmits the power to all four-wheel of the compact SUV.
